The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Driven by government’s aim for clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas, MMO’s purpose is to protect and enhance our precious marine environment, and support UK economic growth by enabling sustainable marine activities and development.

We are the independent regulator for England’s seas, professionally delivering service-focussed outcomes for our customers.

We are a team of around 400 people and combine our Newcastle upon Tyne and London operations with a local presence around the English coastline in Brixham, Beverley, Harwich, Hastings, Lowestoft, North Shields, Hayle, Plymouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Preston, Scarborough, Shoreham, Whitehaven.

**Job description**

Commercial team sits within the wider MMO Finance Directorate who enable the Organisational delivery through management of resources, developing business insight to inform choices and providing recommendations that influence decision making whilst ensuring projects operate within relevant financial controls.

The Directorate works collaboratively across multi-disciplined teams, providing financial expertise, analysis and scrutiny, driving value for money in delivery and ensuring stewardship of public funds in the efficient and effective use of budgets.

Post holder will provide Commercial business partnering to MMO Directorates, ensuring MMOs role as intelligent commercial customer is effectively delivered across all category management areas throughout the full commercial lifecycle.

The post holder will be relied upon to engage with senior stakeholders in the MMO, leading in the provision of expert advice, professional judgement and recommendations that support MMO strategic aims.

The post holder will ensure that the MMO operates in accordance with the control environment and that continuous improvement of MMO commercial capability is central to the business partner approach.
