AWE is currently recruiting for an Emergency Planning & Preparedness Officer

Location - Basingstoke/Reading

Package - £36,030 - £44,000 dependant on skills and experience

Closing date for this role is 9th February

Key Accountabilities:

- Provide technical specialism in one or more of the following emergency planning and preparedness areas:

- Management and development of emergency response exercises against the AWE hazards and fault scenarios.
- Development, design and implementation of specific area/facility operational/tactical emergency response arrangements or plans.
- Risk identification and management.
- Emergency response change/project management.
- Emergency response review, learn and improve.
- Emergency response compliance monitoring and internal assurance.
- Emergency preparedness training development.
- Delivery; emergency response infrastructure management.
- Development and management of a programme to ensure your area of emergency planning and preparedness specialism allows AWE to sustain an effective and efficient future proofed emergency response capability.
- Provide technical support to other planning and preparedness activities as directed via a task manager and the other specialists within the group.
- Demonstrate accountability following through on commitments, overcoming obstacles and upholding promises to achieve results.
- Is an ambassador of safety and security, following all safety protocols, achieving compliance to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all.

Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deputising for Task Managers as required.
- Ensuring that AWE’s Emergency Arrangements are compliant with relevant legislation.
- Ensuring that Corporate Emergency Response training and exercising arrangements are compliant.
- Development, preparation and implementation of companywide emergency planning and preparedness processes, standards, procedures, and work/operating instructions in line with AWE governance processes.
- Technical reviewer of relevant emergency planning and preparedness documentation.
- Provision of technical advice and support to AWE for emergency planning and preparedness.
- Provision of technical support in the delivery of all the groups work streams and annual programmes.
- Deliver technical training in accordance with your specialism.
- Provision of support to Managers during regulatory interfaces.
- Provision of technical support in the delivery of all Emergency Planning and Preparedness Group’s annual programmes.
- Technical advice and support to the wider Site Services and resilience groups.
- Provide support to delivery and review of capability exercises.
- Provision of general support as per task manager requirements.
- The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Essential - A qualification and/or suitable experience in Emergency Response, Emergency Planning or a related Subject
