**WORKSHOP MANAGER / NEWTON ABBOT - PERMANENT VACANCY**
**Location**: Newton Abbot, Devon
**Job type**: Permanent contract
**Hours**: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00 (flexibility required)
**Salary**: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Workshop Manager based in Newton Abbot on a permanent full-time contract.
You will be a self-starter with experience of working in a similar environment and able to communicate effectively with both colleagues and customers but also have a friendly and approachable attitude.
**Responsibilities**:
Management of the workshop, organization and planning of the Workshop Engineering Team
Planning of jobs, resources and workload timescales
Assist in the preparation of quotations for customers jobs for assemblies and repairs, this may lead to liaising with colleagues in both the External Sales and Technical teams to prepare or hand over enquiries for bigger projects
First point of contact for all Workshop Engineering related work
Working predominantly with our Engineering, Service Procurement, Sales, and technical teams on site to provide support and ensure that both customer and company needs are met as efficiently as possible.
Promoting the company at all times when communicating with customers
Assisting Engineering Manager in providing holiday cover for Service Supervisor
Mentor, train and manage the team under your control ensuring maintenance of good departmental and companywide relationships
To lead by example, show hands on experience to your team and if required include yourself in activities to promote positive engagement and commitment
Telephone follow up of numerous quotes and enquiries on customer equipment to convert to order
To follow up and progress quotations for repairs with clients and review progress in their decision-making process
To use and understand the mainframe computer ERP system for inputting quotes, orders and associated procedures
Actively contact customer base to maintain company profile
Develop leads and enquires from customers into quotations and orders either personally or with assistance from other members of the teams
Must also be prepared to talk to customers face to face from time to time on our very busy trade counter
**About you**:
Excellent telephone manner
Good understanding of computer systems in a fast-moving workshop environment would be an advantage
Able to encourage a positive working environment
Able to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally
Ability to cope with demanding workload and work calmly under pressure
