**Community Services Manager**

**Salary**:
£30,000 per year (full time - 35 hours per week)

**Job Summary**:
To provide leadership and management to our Community Services team, which includes Group Support/Community Development and Project team members currently including Half Term Activities Programme (HAF), Youth Alliance and Family Hubs work and CA facilitated networks and forums.

Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, you will have operational oversight of services and strategic partnership development and will ensure that the services and projects are delivered effectively, efficiently and to a high standard.

**Duties**

1. Take operational responsibility for ensuring that Community Development Services are delivered in line with our funding agreements and service contracts and on schedule.

2. Ensure all arrangements, administration and documentation related to contracts and activities are efficiently and timely completed and processed.

3. Put in place systems to monitor and report on service delivery, outputs, outcomes and impact; and ensure that these are implemented by staff. Ensure members’ and user feedback is collected and analysed and support evaluation on behalf of CA through a range of methods.

4. Monitoring performance and taking remedial action as required. Where significant risks or delays are identified flagging these to your line manager as soon as possible to agree how these will be addressed.

5. Submit timely and accurate reports as required by external funders and senior managers/Board.

6. Manage the establishment of new projects, services or roles within the Community Development and Projects teams.

8. Provide effective line management support and supervision to staff, in line with Community Action policies and procedures.

9. Maintain positive relations with relevant external organisations and services to enhance service delivery. This may include representing Community Action’s Services at relevant meetings or making presentations.

1. Manage delegated budgets relevant to the area of responsibility.

2. Maintain appropriate records of contacts and actions.

3. Provide narrative and statistical reports as required, coordinating community services reporting in a timely manner.

4. Be proactive in addressing issues of equality and diversity within own working practices and the work of CA.

5. Work in accordance with the policies and procedures of CA.

6. Be responsible for own health and safety and that of others.

**Person Specification**

**Experience of**

1. Successfully leading teams and managing people

2. Delivery of effective services

3. Performance management, including meeting targets and reporting to funders

**Knowledge and Understanding of**

1. The services that sit within the Community development Team - ideally previous direct experience of delivering or managing similar services

2. The expectations of external funders / contract managers - liaison, communication and reporting

**Skills and abilities**

1. IT and information systems - able to develop and maintain systems and processes that enable a team to work effectively together

2. Attention to detail, excellent administrative and data collection skills

3. Excellent communication skills: the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately over the phone, in writing, and face-to-face.

4. Managing complex and confidential information with absolute discretion and a high degree of personal integrity

5. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work well on multiple tasks, to short deadlines and under pressure.

6. A commitment to excellence with a strong work ethic, willing and able to take responsibility for delivering services to a high standard

7. Ability to build positive, professional, cooperative relationships, both within a team and with external stakeholders
