AECOM are recruiting a Technical Specialist to join our well established and growing water asset management team. As an established water asset management practitioner, you will deliver innovative technical solutions to meet water company asset management needs, utilising skills within data analytics, GIS, coding and data visualisation.

You will have a blend of technical & quantitative skills, communication skills, creativity, and a desire to solve client problems. Working as a technical contributor for project scoping and delivery, you will support AECOM technical interactions with clients. Typical projects include:
Use and visualisation of data to understand long term asset health (water networks and treatment works) and investment needs covering asset condition, deterioration, investment needs and scenarios, risks/benefits.

Development of tactical asset planning tools and programmes to improve asset performance including reducing sewer blockages, flooding, pollution and water main bursts, within a catchment master-planning context (e.g. DWMP and WRMP).

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
+ Undertake technical work on projects, liaising with AECOM teams in the development and delivery of the technical approach.

+ Provide technical assistance and guidance to team members and throughout the business.

+ Conduct peer reviews and/or makes technical presentations.

+ Develop into an in-house expert on specific complex technical solutions or processes.

+ Facilitate knowledge transfer through tuition, mentoring and internal presentations.

+ Work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams.

+ Keep managers advised as to status of assignments with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and risks.

+ Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities.

+ Assure quality, quantity, and completeness of assigned tasks.

+ Manage small teams (non-direct and potentially direct reports) to complete tasks, projects, and initiatives.

+ Receive guidance and feedback from Senior Leaders

Minimum Requirements

+ Significant experience of using data, analytics, GIS to understand asset condition and performance, ideally in the water industry or an analogous industry

+ Experience of the UK regulated Water industry, including standard performance metrics (e.g. ODIs etc)

+ Experience of coding/model building using proprietary/open source platforms

**+ Preferred Specific skills**:
+ Analytics - Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative analytical techniques (basic statistics, regression, classification, etc..), knowledge of basic Machine Learning and geospatial topics.

+ Asset investment planning - Experience of using an enterprise asset planning solution such as AIM, Arcadis Gen, Copperleaf, Pioneer.

+ Coding - Experience in one or more coding languages such as R, Python, SQL, Ruby,Java, C#, Scala, or others.

+ Visualization - Demonstrated knowledge of data visualization and presentation design techniques, using Tableau, Power BI, or similar

+ Masterplanning - within water (WRMP) and wastewater (DWMP)

+ Communications - Demonstrated ability to effectively help clients scope out their problems, and to present data, solutions, and analytical findings to a range of audiences.

+ Ideally experience of people and project management

+ MA or MSc in Engineering, Humanities.
