We are currently seeking a Commissioning Editor to join the team on a permanent basis, with a focus on animation for a 0-6 audience.

Main Responsibilities
The Commissioning Editor for 0-6 animation will work closely with the Head of Commissioning and Acquisitions for 0-6 to commission, acquire and deliver a broad range of diverse and innovative content from suppliers. They will balance editorial excellence with compliance and budgetary requirements, ensuring content meets our audience’s high expectations and is strategically aligned to our 0-6 priorities. As a senior commissioning figure they will also contribute to our wider culture both within and beyond the BBC, fostering innovative approaches and encouraging creative growth in the children’s animation sector.

You should have substantial experience in commissioning, developing and producing Children’s content, particularly pre-school animation, with a strong passion for pre-school programming and excellent editorial and creative judgement. You should ideally have a strong network within the animation community, as well as significant budgetary experience. You should have thorough understanding of the UK audience and wider kids landscape and current trends.
