We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services and Veterinary Nursing.

We also have a thriving university centre at York offering a range of courses from Foundation degrees to Masters level.

We are looking to recruit a Progress Tutor to work within the curriculum and with a cohort of around 140-160 to deliver our tutorial framework group sessions (Progression and Development sessions) on topics such as Employability, Prevent and British Values, mental health and wellbeing among many others. The tutors will also be responsible for supporting the students pastorally and monitoring their progress and attendance in one to one tutorial sessions.

Working closely with curriculum, Student Services Team, Quality Team and Work Placement Teams, you will be responsible for ensuring each student has the life skills and knowledge they need to be employable, work ready and equipped with the skills to keep themselves safe when they leave our College.

You will be a team player but be able to adapt to working independently when necessary. **Main Purpose of the role**

To work with a caseload of students (both in groups and individually) to deliver the College tutorial Progression and Development programme, offer a range of pastoral support to help remove any barriers to learning and work closely with curriculum staff to ensure students have the best chance to achieve their qualification.

**Key Tasks / re**
**sponsibilities**:
All tasks to be carried out in a consistent manner with the College Values.
- Delivery of the Progression and Development tutorial programme which will include Employability and Life Skills in weekly group sessions. Sessions will include a range of delivery styles, including digital self-paced modules, discussion and debate.
- Conduct individual tutorial sessions with students to monitor progress on their course, set targets and regularly review.
- Provide pastoral support for low level issues, in collaboration with the Student Services and Wellbeing Team.
- Monitor and support student attendance and punctuality, in line with the College Attendance Strategy.
- Work with students on an individual basis to overcome any barriers to achievement, including workload management, meeting deadlines etc.
- To liaise closely with the Work Placement Team to ensure sufficient evidence is gathered from the students to support their qualification.
- Work closely with the wider Student Services Team to access any additional support for the students, including careers advice, wellbeing support, support for residential students etc
- Work closely with the Safeguarding Team and external agencies to ensure students are safe
- Work closely with curriculum course managers to ensure relevant information is shared and support actioned in lessons.
- Work closely with the Inclusive Learning Team to ensure all student’s needs are catered for.
- Act as an advocate for the student, if appropriate, during the disciplinary process in College.
- Keep and maintain accurate records on College systems (ProMonitor and CPOMS)
- Contribute to the student induction process in September.
- To co-ordinate Student Voice within the caseload of students.

- Support the curriculum department and participate in the planning and preparation of cross-college events and other marketing activities, for example College Open Events.
