Our client, a leading children’s charity, providing support vulnerable children and young people who are at risk of harm, exploitation and abuse, are looking for a Children’s Social Care Link Practitioner to join their team.
The role will include provide specialist support and advice to children’s social care, to support children, young people and their families affected by substance misuse.
**Synopsis of duties**:
- Providing specialist support and advise to children and young people at risk of substance misuse, as a result of parental/familial substance misuse - including children of Child in Need and Child Protection Plans
- Providing specialist advice and support to professionals and families involved in Children’s Social Care as a result of substance misuse
- Offering support to service users, working alongside social workers on their workloads
- Providing consultation, training and support to social workers and foster carers advocating on behalf of the young person and their family
- Offering a range of training and workshops to meet the requirements set out in the Children’s Social Care workforce and development plan
- Supporting with highly complex cases, including dual diagnosis and with families with complex and chaotic needs
- Ensuring that safeguarding is of paramount importance, ensuring that all safeguarding measures are always followed
**Essential Requirements**:
- Experience of working with children/young people with complex needs/ experienced trauma and working with families to provide support
- Experience multiagency working, including working alongside social services
- Experience delivering training to professionals
- Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
