Material Planner/purchase Buyer

**Responsibilities**:

- Analyse historical data, market trends, and customer demand to forecast future material needs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders or advice notes as needed and maintain accurate records of materials used and received.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (MRP) to track inventory and manage stock levels.
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Generate reports and present findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with suppliers, customers, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Finance, Sales, and the Customer Support team.
- Provide administrative/cover to the Purchasing Manager in the preparation of reports & KPI’s and support to the wider team in answering stock queries for standard products and providing cover when required.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues or delays in delivery.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree or MCIPS in Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience and a minimum of 3 years working as a Material Planner/buyer in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices related to material planning.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (MRP/ ERP) for inventory tracking, or similar systems for material planning.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong negotiation/communication skills to when working with internal teams and to secure favorable terms with suppliers/customers.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques and software tools such as Excel, VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables and comfortable in the use of spreadsheet software.
- Familiarity with the shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a ‘can do attitude’.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £40,000.00 per year
