The Trusted Research Specialists are new roles in Research Services which seek to facilitate international collaboration in the context of an increasingly complex environment in which external parties such as governments and funders are paying increasing attention.

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with on-site working expected 50% of working time.

**About the Role**

This role is part of a new team working with researchers, research student supervisors and with professional services colleagues in departments, divisions and University services to identify, mitigate and manage risks connected with international collaboration including export control and compliance with the National Security and Investment act. You will contribute to and deliver activities and training across the university to increase awareness of and compliance with trusted research matters. You will also have the opportunity to participate in national professional bodies and networks such as the Higher Education Export Control Association.

**About You**

Educated to a graduate level, or with equivalent experience, you will have a good awareness and interest in trusted research in international academic collaborations including knowledge of export control. You will have experience of dealing with complex and sensitive matters and the ability to manage a varied workload with a customer focused approach. The role needs very effective communication skills in writing and orally with a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside the University.
