Leakage Field Tech Supervisor
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.
- How’s this for job satisfaction: at Scottish Water we look after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, we’re guarding Scotland’s reputation for refreshingly pure water, and caring for our environment at the same time.
Sound good? We're on the hunt for a Leakage Field Supervisor to join our team.
What you’ll do
You'll be the maestro setting objectives and making sure our team is hitting all the right notes. Yep, it's all about reviewing and monitoring performance and development. Safety is our top priority, and you'll be our hero ensuring our health and safety policies are the real deal. Keep our team in tip-top shape.
We're all about teamwork, so you'll be liaising with Networks Analysts to make sure we've got our leakage detection game on point. DMA's are your playground, and you'll be swinging by to supervise meters and keep things in the right groove. Also, you'll be doing leakage surveys and sweeps, making sure everything's flowing smoothly.
- In this role, you'll be in charge of making sure we're on top of leak detection, repairs, and pressure management. That means you'll be overseeing audits and keeping an eye on the consultants and contractors we've got working on these tasks. It's all about ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely in our operations.
Alongside our customer operations team you’ll be responsible coordinating the isolating and re-commissioning sections of the network. When it comes to installation, monitoring, calibrating, repairing - you'll be the expert for all the cool equipment we use.
Additionally, you’ll be collecting and interpreting data to spot those sneaky leak and you’ll be the expert of faulty apparatus, figuring out who's responsible, and confirming our measuring gear is top-notch.
Lastly, you’ll be responsible for setting out, programming, deploying, and collecting data from our trusty data-logging equipment.
What you’ll bring
- You will have experience in Leakage Management Roles and have a solid history of keeping things safe and by the book.
- But that's not all You will also be the kind of person who's a natural leader and motivated to improve things. We want someone who can not only lead but inspire the team to be their best. If you're the kind of person who loves driving operational excellence and is all about making things better day by day, you're exactly who we're looking for. We're all about that constant improvement vibe
- Ideally you will also have a good understanding of Water Network systems. And let's not forget, we need someone who can consistently meet a wide range of targets. Consistency is key, so if you're good at hitting the mark and getting things done, you're on the right track. Lastly, you will also need a valid UK driving licence.
Looking out for you
While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
This role has some standby requirements but you’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
For your future, there’s our pension (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life assurance.
As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash - handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
The not-so-small print
The salary range for this role is £31,380 - £43,350 depending on skills and experience.
Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. These checks are conducted on our behalf by a third party. Don’t worry - we’ll ask your permission before starting these checks.
A few final things worth knowing
Let us know if there are any changes we can make to our recruitment process to help you perform at your best. Lots of our people have disabilities or neurodiverse conditions (including some of our recruiters). We’re very used to making adjustments, so please don’t be afraid to ask.
As part of our commitment to developing a flourishing Scotland, it’s important that all our employees are Scottish taxpayers. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland. If you don’t already live here, you'll need to commit to moving here within your first three months.
