**Responsible to**:HR Office Manager
**Location**: Dame Bradbury’s Junior School and Nursery, Saffron Walden, Essex; with the requirement to visit other Cambridge based locations as needed.
**Your role within the HR Department**
The post holder will support the HR Office Manager in the day-to-day delivery of the HR life cycle across the Foundation to over 400 staff, with a particular focus on supporting the management and senior leadership teams at Dame Bradbury’s Junior School and the on-site nursery. Working closely with the HR Administrators (based in Cambridge), the HR Generalist will be involved in a number of hands-on administrative tasks, with priorities changing on a day-to-day basis, therefore the ability to prioritise and organise their workload is essential to the success of this role.
**Measurable Outcomes**
- Support the HR Office Manager in ensuring 100% compliance with the Foundation’s Safer Recruitment policies and procedures across all recruitment processes and 100% accurate record keeping on the Single Central Register.
- Promote a culture of positive HR and employee engagement by building and maintaining solid working relationships with all Foundation colleagues and HR team members.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Ensure strict compliance in all employment related matters in line with Foundation policies and procedures, employment law and other relevant guidance.
- Assist with the continuous monitoring and audit of the Single Central Register, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and regulatory requirements.
- Advise managers and Foundation colleagues on employee relation matters, providing best practice guidance and ensuring complete compliance with relevant Foundation policies.
- Lead (or support, as appropriate) employee relations casework, including: disciplinaries, grievances, absence, redundancy, settlement agreements, flexible working requests and occupational health referrals.
- Lead (or support, as appropriate) significant employee relations’ consultations, including TUPE processes, and those relating to substantive changes to terms and conditions, including salary, pension and benefits.
- Seek, collate, record and implement independent expert legal or employment advice, as and where appropriate.
- Assist with the Foundation’s probationary and annual review process, capturing training needs and following up with line managers.
- Ensure staff information is entered into HR Pro and iSAMS so the data is accurately and readily available prior to commencement of employment.
- Produce contracts of employment and other contract documentation.
- Liaise with the Payroll department on new starters/leavers and employee contract changes, checking calculations of pay and holiday entitlements.
- Assist with HR related projects and support wellbeing initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous review of HR procedures, suggesting improvements as and where necessary or beneficial.
- Support the recruitment process when required and as needed by the Recruitment Coordinator, which may include
- liaising with Heads of School and other hiring managers on their recruitment needs;
- preparing job descriptions, placing external and internal vacancies;
- producing job offer letters and other recruitment documentation;
- delivering and/or supporting new starter inductions.
- Develop an understanding of all HR activities and assist with any HR, recruitment and onboarding matters when other team members are away and/or in busy periods.
**General Responsibilities**
- Act as an excellent ambassador for the Foundation at all times.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all Foundation colleagues.
- Assist as necessary in other Foundation areas at peak times.
- Work at all times towards the aims and goals of the Foundation and any individual objectives and targets you may have agreed.
- Proactively identify areas for improvements within the Foundation.
