37 hours. Monday - Thursday 08.30 - 5.00pm. Friday 08.30 - 4.30pm.

First Response is the single point of entry for parent/carers, professionals and members of the public to access Help and Protection for children in Bristol.

The First Response Team triages all contacts and referrals, and makes further enquiries necessary to determine whether children and families can be supported by universal or targeted services, or whether a referral to Families in Focus or Social Care is required.

As the first point of contact for Bristol’s First Response Team, the First Response Advisor will ensure all our customers receive a professional, positive, customer-focussed experience.

The First Response Advisor role is an exciting post which would suit an employee who enjoys working in a fast paced, demanding but supportive environment. You will join an established team comprising of the Team Manager, six Deputy Team Managers, three Early Help Co-ordinators and fourteen full time equivalent First Response Advisors, with administrative support.

As a First Response advisor, you will take incoming calls, process written contacts and referrals, and make further enquiries required to support decision making. This can include making calls to parents and professionals in highly emotionally charged situations. There is a high demand on the service and being able to multi-task / effectively manage conflicting priorities is essential to the role.

The role demands a high standard of typed written work, IT capabilities, and a good understanding of support available to children and families.
