Patient Safety Improvement Advisor, Band 6

**Responsibilities include**: - Developing, testing and embedding the Trust Patient Safety Incident Response Plan and Policy. - Liaising with the Trust education team to introduce the national patient safety syllabus and the training requirements of PSIRF. - Supporting the development and implementation of learning responses as part of the Patient Safety Incident Response Plan and leading on a variety of learning responses as required. - Developing the roles and onboarding of a network of Patient Safety Partners.
- Supporting the patient safety and quality processes by reviewing, scoping and presenting appropriate patient safety incidents as required. - The continual development and delivery of patient safety and human factors training programmes. - Supporting face to face and virtual delivery of patient safety and human factors training, through the use of a variety of tools and techniques. - Ensuring the development and storage of training materials and records, maintaining version control and producing supporting training aids as required.
- Overseeing the coordination, advertising and booking of patient safety and human factors training programmes - Collecting and analysing data to monitor the impact of the programme and providing reports on progress and improvement opportunities to the Faculty, Trust and external partners as required. - Linking with other providers of internal training e.g., simulation\leadership to identify opportunities for joint education and improvement projects. - Providing a point of contact for enquiries and a source of information on safety improvement collaboratives, promoting the offer and availability of the collaboratives to different staff groups and specialties at all opportunities. - Coordinating sessions, participants and facilitators to deliver safety improvement collaboratives that meet the requirements of the programme commissioners whilst integrating quality improvement approaches.
- Overseeing the administration associated with the safety improvement collaboratives and seeking out opportunities for sharing the outputs, learnings and celebrating the achievements. - Developing a network of patient safety associates, maintaining records and evaluating the impact of the programme. - Liaising with the communications team to create and maintain a programme of safety communications and campaigns that regularly share details of the Academy safety programmes and feedback on safety initiatives. Utilising social media to share and promote the opportunities and activities on offer.
- Providing patient safety and human factors expertise and advise as required. - Participate in national networks to continually develop the internal approach to patient safety and human factors. - Contribute to the delivery of Quality Improvement training provided by the GSQIA. - Supporting the patient safety and quality processes by reviewing, scoping and presenting appropriate patient safety incidents as required.
