We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual who is flexible and able to cope with different work environments. The ability to work under pressure/meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality work is required. A willingness to travel between sites is also essential.

The post holder will work as part of the Health and Safety Team supporting the effective delivery of the health and safety management system across all services and sites within the organisation and its clients.

To provide specialist advice on matters of fire safety and health, safety & welfare across the organisation in order to enable the organisation and its clients to comply with all relevant health and safety legislation.

Play a key role in training, inspection, developing, monitoring and auditing systems and processes to ensure legislative compliance and progress against the organisation and its client’s annual health and safety action plan.

Main Responsibilities
- To assist staff to develop and promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation and its clients;
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to managers and staff regarding their fire safety and health & safety responsibilities and develop processes / documentation to assist them in the production of suitable and sufficient risk assessments;
- Develop and implement effective monitoring and audit systems to measure health and safety performance;
- Conduct proactive and reactive inspections and audits to measure / monitor compliance with policies, specific statutory legislation and standards in line with current priorities;
- To review and advise on new legislation affecting health and safety and where necessary provide briefing notes for comment / approval;
- Liaise with statutory bodies in relation to fire safety and health & safety;
- Develop and deliver specialist training on fire safety issues to a range of staff groups across the organisation and its clients (external customers);
- Monitor and review adverse incidents, carry out analysis on any trends determining root causes and producing recommendations to prevent re-occurrences;
- Carry out risk assessments where appropriate and advise on adequate control measures to reduce risks to the lowest level
- Carry out detailed investigations into actual fire incidents and RIDDOR reportable incidents, ensuring lessons are learnt and identified countermeasures are effective and assist in the monitoring of recommended outcomes;
