Colas supplies, installs, commissions and maintains traffic signals equipment across the globe. In the UK we work with mainly with Local Authorities where typically we engage in refurbishment projects, installation schemes or term maintenance contracts.

We are currently looking to employ an ITS Engineer for our Lincolnshire contract.

**Main Responsibilities**
As a Traffic Signals Engineer you will be responsible for the reactive and annual maintenance of the traffic signals street equipment which are installed on 318 sites within the county of Lincolnshire and, will report to the Senior Engineer. An outline ofsome of the key duties and responsibilities is set out below.
- Responsible for gaining a comprehensive knowledge of all equipment and systems used within Lincolnshire, whilst mitigating any potential Health & Safety or Operational risks.
- Ensure you follow all of our methods of work which are detailed within our Method Statements, as well as making yourself aware of all potential risks which are defined within our task specific risk assessments.
- Support the senior engineer in their decision making, by communicating all technical and on-site faults effectively to ensure these decisions do not adversely affect our client and key internal stakeholders.
- Support the installation of traffic signals poles, cables, heads and, detection equipment to a high standard and, whilst achieving the customer’s specifications.
- Hold and, maintain equipment levels within your vehicle to enable first time repairs during your reactive maintenance works.
- Update site files with correct and appropriate information so that others can achieve their onsite objectives safely and accurately.
- Ensure your work sheets and time sheets are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Available to be on call in Lincolnshire.
- Attend technical development and in-house training.
- Support all aspects of company Health & Safety;

- Near miss and, incident reporting and, investigations.
- Attending toolbox talks
- Complying with all traffic signals risk assessments & method statements
- Complying with all the traffic signals COSHH assessments

Qualifications/ Skills

Full driving licence

GCSE in English & Maths to level C or above.

Ability to work at heights.

Desirable Qualifications and experience

City and Guilds, qualification or equivalent in highways installations

Sector 8 Accreditation, Health and Safety qualifications,including NRSWA, G39, and ECS).

Identifying faults, repairing and maintaining electronic equipment to first line level (ie return to base for repair).

Experience of Local Authority and, or, National Highways
