RSR Public Safety are currently recruiting for a Public Protection Officer for the Falkland Islands.

**Job Summary**:
The Falkland Islands Government is committed to safeguarding and the Public Protection Police Officer is integral to ensuring the Royal Falkland Islands Police Force’s (RFIP) capacity to provide a timely safeguarding response for children and vulnerable adults. This role is joint funded and co-located between RFIP and Social Services.

**Location**: Falkland Islands

**Contract**: Up to 4 years.

**Salary**: £32,461 - £37,425 per annum + gratuity, relocation & flights.

**Main duties and responsibilities**

This role will be part of a multi-agency safeguarding team and will be based at both the Social Services Office and the Police Station. In this key position you will provide public protection response within the multi-agency safeguarding team to ensure an appropriate police response, lawful information sharing and referral to other agencies is provided in order to review and supervise the risk in relation to safeguarding vulnerable individuals. This role will also take the lead in offender management and also develop and implement continuous improvement, quality assurance and best practice across the Hub to enhance service delivery whilst ensuring all standards are met minimising risk to the force.

**Person Specification**

We are seeking a dedicated police officer who has specialist knowledge in Public Protection and Safeguarding who will take the lead in both the development and provision of services relating to protecting the public.
- be qualified in the rank of Sergeant, having passed the RFIP constable-sergeant promotion process or a UK (or overseas equivalent) or have extensive investigative experience working in a public protection environment.
- be up to date and hold a recognised qualification in Achieving Best Evidence.
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills including presenting reports and evidence in court.
- be able to build positive professional relationships within RFIP, social services, other departments and the community we serve.
- have a comprehensive understanding of the roles of different agencies and how they work together.
- have the ability to collect and analyse complex information from multiple sources.
- have an understanding of the impact of trauma and how to work with people suffering from the effects of traumatic events.
