We are seeking an ambitious Assistive Technology Trainer to provide training on assistive technology to our students that we support in Higher Education. You will support students by helping them learn how to use/navigate their new IT software that they have been equipped with throughout their time at University.

The students you work with may be hearing or visually impaired or could be individuals who need support with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and dyspraxia etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- To act in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the institution
- Establish each individual's specific requirements and create a bespoke tailored training plan.
- To develop individual opportunities for each learner to lead a more independent life
- To follow agreed recording and reporting system in a timely manner
- To ensure learner confidentiality, dignity and respect is maintained at all times
- Adapt teaching styles to provide training in a manner to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Provide training on a range of assistive technology to each individual on how to use their assistive technology according to their requirements.
- Punctuality with a flexible approach to working hours is required.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in teaching or training assistive technologies or a similar role.
- Proven experience of working with disabled people or people with specific learning differences.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and knowledge of MS Office and office software.
- Experience of a logical approach to problem-solving and paying close attention to detail.
- Experience in teaching or training on assistive software and hardware eg: Inspiration, Mind Manager Pro, Dragon Naturally Speaking, textHELP Read & Write, typing tutors, various dictionaries, Dolphin, Zoomtext, JAWS, Claroread. Digital voice recorders, scanning pens, personal organisers, electronic dictionaries, Alphasmart.
- Ability to learn new assistive software and hardware as required.

You will be registered with Randstad on a Contract for Services.
