**What we’re looking for**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Support Worker to join our scheme in Southend, housing people who have experienced entrenched homelessness, have complex support needs and helping them develop skills for independent living. We provide a service that is underpinned by Housing First principles and to be successful in this role you will have:
- Hands on experience of working with people who are homeless and have complex needs, including substance misuse issues, traumatic histories and challenging behaviours- At least six months frontline experience of working with rough sleeping clients who have multiple disadvantages- A good working knowledge of Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis- A demonstrable understanding of trauma and support- Good knowledge of housing and benefits- The ability to work well within a team and manage your own caseload with supervision- You will be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing- An ability to engage with and form positive working relationships with professionals from a variety of agencies

**A bit about the role**:
As a Specialist Support Worker you will be expected to provide intensive housing support to previously homeless customers and those most at risk of becoming homeless to help maintain their tenancies and move on to further independent living. Some of the key results for the role include:
- Moving Customers from temporary a_ccommodation
- _to their own flats_- Working with customers in their own homes you will ensure that all aspects of tenancy sustainment are in place for example housing benefits _- Attending all relevant meetings as directed by the line manager and to work in partnership with relevant agencies and support specialists to achieve the best possible outcome for our customers_- Working with a per_

- approach you will ensure all ri_
- sk assessments _
- and recovery plans for your customers are in place and reviewed within timescale_

**_This role will require an Enhanced DBS check, a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle._**
