**Title: Senior Payroll Administrator**

**Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm**

**Location:Leicester**

**Salary: £28,000 **
An amazing company who are looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their team, on a permanent basis. You will be expected to ensure the accurate processing of wages, salaries and other forms of compensation across their allocated payrollsite. They will be responsible for maintaining a proactive and positive working relationship with their key customers on their allocated payroll sites and ensuring that queries are answered on a timely basis.

KEY ROLE DUTIES:

- Ensure that all amendments are processed via Workday or posted directly to the payroll system prior to the payroll deadline
- Inform the relevant centre of any known missing data and ensure that this data is complete on Workday and received in iTrent prior to the payroll deadline
- Review the errors, exceptions and elements reports and reconcile to final payroll
- Ensure that the BACS report, payroll summary and final analysis are reconciled and authorised
- Where a supplementary run is undertaken, ensure that there is a clear audit trail from the first run to the last run
- Ensure that the payroll information is ready to be transmitted to the BACS system 4 days before the relevant payment date and the funds are transferred to employees' bank accounts by the pay date or the previous Friday if the pay date is a weekend or bankholiday
- Print pay slips for leavers and post them with P45 to home addresses

HOLIDAYS & ABSENCES
- Update the absence management system for family leave & calculate family leave pay accurately
- Ensure that the payroll is adjusted for any unpaid leave or family leave pay
- Family leave pay to include, Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental Leave and Parental Leave
- Ensure that the payroll is adjusted for any Company and Statutory Sick Pay

QUERIES:

- Respond to any queries that may be raised by the people being paid, with the exception of certain pension queries, where they must be directed to the Pensions Office. Ensure action is taken where required.
- Highlight any recurring issues so that they can be raised with the relevant centre

PENSIONS:

- Ensure pension deductions are processed accurately and in line with Auto-enrolment and Pensions Salary Sacrifice/Exchange procedures

OTHER:

- Validate P45s from joiners and enter them into the payroll system to allow accurate FPS submissions to HMRC
- Create P45s for leavers and distribute them accordingly
- Keep up-to-date with all payroll matters to ensure that the service provided continues to be accurate and within UK law
- Assist other members of the team when necessary including the weekly payroll
- Assist in the preparation of month-end reporting and reconciling
- Assist in the preparation and issuing of P60s to employees and provide details to the Inland Revenue by the required deadline
- Assist in the preparation of P11Ds and ensure that copies are distributed to employees and submitted to the Inland Revenue by the required deadlines.
- Liaise with auditors as and when required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

- Payroll Qualification or at least 2 years of payroll experience working within a Payroll Office
- Strong IT Skills**-**Confident user of Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook PowerPoint - Strong excel skills are essential (V-look ups and Pivot tables)
- Previous experience with Payroll systems and packages required / Experience with Midland iTrent would be advantageous
- Ability to and wants to work as part of a customer-focused service team
- Ability to work with accuracy and good attention to detail
- Ability to keep calm and stay focused under pressure
- Ability to work to deadlines
