**1 Teaching and Assessment**
- Deliver small group teaching from 1-15 learners and to support others to effectively do so.
- Adhere to policies and procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Complete assessments of learners in line with regulatory requirements and secure accurate records of progress made against assessment
- criteria for all Chemistry learners
- Lead and attend training sessions and meetings with teaching and technical staff to support national course delivery.
- Undertake administrative duties.
- Personally, or support others, to test course equipment and troubleshoot any problems, so that practical work is fit for purpose and is adapted accordingly.
- To write, review and improve the resources offer on a regular basis, to ensure it is of high quality and fit for purpose. This will include overseeing
- of others ordering equipment, chemicals and consumables.
- To network and develop/secure strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders including Tuition Centres, Awarding Organisations, Parents, Universities, Employers and the wider STEM community

**2 Health & Safety**
- Review and update all related practical work risk assessments.
- Have overall leadership responsibility for health and safety within the Chemistry practical work sessions.
- Ensure teachers, technician and learners understand and follow health and safety guidance.
- Ensure all learners complete the relevant health and safety assessments.

**COMPETENCY CRITERIA**

**ESSENTIAL**

**Qualifications, Training & Knowledge**
- BSc in Chemistry or a relevant science teaching degree
- A Level Practical Endorsement Certification (To be completed if successful)
- Understanding of the British education sector
- Qualified teacher status and/or experience of teaching in the Higher Education sector
- A minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
- Experience of working with laboratory equipment
- Experience of writing risk assessments
- Experience of writing and delivering training content

**DESIRABLE**
- Experience of assessing A level Science practicals
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural setting
- Experience in quality assurance
- Experience of working with SEN learners and adapting lessons to their needs
- Experience of working within the wider STEM Community/Awarding Organisations

**Skills & Behaviours**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to use them to convey complex information to learners and colleagues
- Ability to take initiative and work without supervision
- Confidence in making decisions within area of expertise
- Able to work efficiently and co-operatively as part of a team
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, and adapt readily to changing circumstances
- Ability to review documentation and make amendments appropriately within set guidelines

**DESIRABLE**
- Strong negotiation skills, with ability to reach agreements
- Ability to analyse and solve problems

**Circumstances**

The post requires a flexible approach and willingness to carry out working hours across set teaching schedules and venues.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,800.00 per year
