An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Special Constabulary Support Officer.

You will work closely in support of the Specials Command Team with the delivery of the deployment, development, and retention of Special Constables by completing any administrative work required to support this aim.

You will provide a full range of administrative services, including word processing, drafting, and preparing correspondence and high-quality documentation, drafting documents and co-ordinate and make appointments and meetings, to provide a comprehensive support service to the Special Constabulary Command team

The role requires you to arrange meetings on behalf of the Special Constabulary Command team, preparing all paperwork and files beforehand, distributing agendas, minutes, reports, and other documentation as necessary, in order to ensure that all participants are prepared, attending and minuting these meetings where necessary.

You will need to have good organisational skills and be able to maintain administrative systems and procedures for the Special Constabulary Command team, to ensure that documentation, information, and files both manual and electronically stored can be appropriately and readily retrieved at any time.

You will need to have a conscientious approach, along with the ability to pay considerable attention to detail, accuracy and neatness, working in line with the Code of Ethics in a confidential environment.

The role is based at Essex Police Headquarters, and is predominantly weekday office hours, but with occasional evening and weekend working to support Special Constabulary events.

Good organizational skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel spreadsheets, being able to work with speed and accuracy.

Good interpersonal, team working skills, communication, and the ability to work with several different stakeholders.

Good verbal and written communication skills, with experience of organisational and administration skills.

Successful applicants for this role will be defined as an; Office based Agile Worker - Office based agile working with designated team area. Works predominantly (60% or more) in one office space. The rest of the time works at home or at other police site locations.

Depending on your current vetting level and security clearances, you may be required to complete additional vetting information during the recruitment process.
