Summary

The Governing Body are looking to appoint a highly committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant to make a strong contribution in school, helping support our children reach their full potential.

St. Joseph’s is a small mixed aged Catholic Primary School, located in Barnoldswick in Lancashire and close to North Yorkshire. It is a successful school, committed to raising standards of achievement. We have wonderful children, supportive parents, dedicated staff and governors.
- work with class teachers to implement structured learning activities and to assist individual/group of pupils to complete tasks.

We wish to appoint someone:

- With previous experience of working in a primary school, who will support the needs of our children
- Who will work closely with the Class Teacher to deliver interventions that meets specific needs, providing feedback to the Class Teacher
- To undertake activities in order to monitor the personal, social and emotional needs of pupils
- To develop positive relationships with pupils to assist pupil progress and attainment
- To support pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme
- To support pupils to overcome barriers to learning by providing pastoral or learning support
- To implement specific programmes with individual pupils or groups appropriate to the development needs of individual children
- Who has high standards and expectations for the achievement and behaviour of all our children
- Who demonstrates high levels of initiative
- A family atmosphere, working closely with our supportive families and the Church community
- Motivated and well behaved children who are keen to learn
- A creative and supportive staff team, who are committed to ensuring every child reaches their true potential
- An attractive, welcoming and well-resourced environment
- Support and encouragement for your continued professional development.

Essential Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 or above qualification -appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

Essential Experience
- Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
- Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment

Desirable Experience
- Experience in delivering nurture programmes
- Experience of Administrative work
- Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
