**Job description**

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) are seeking an Engineer for their site at Warminster to join their team.

JAMES is Defence’s Engineering and Asset Management (E&AM), Management Information System (MIS) for over 48,000 users. Its use is mandated by the Defence Land Systems Safety Regulator and enables Defence to demonstrate legislative compliance; it underpinsthe National Audit Office (NAO), legal and safety compliance for over 1.6M equipment assets, including over 80,000 vehicles, and assists with cost capture for an annual Land equipment support spend of circa £500M. It supports pan-Defence use of Land equipmenton operations, whilst training and in barracks.

DE&S manage the Service via a small multi-disciplined team, based primarily at Warminster comprising of military and civilian staff. Responsible to the Chief Engineer you will be a key stakeholder in Customer requirements and industry solutions and assistthe team to ensure the sustainability, availability and enhancement of Defence capability whilst working closely with our US Supplier.
About the role
The responsibilities of these posts will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Working to the Chief Engineer you will be part of a team of military and civilian personnel. You will be expected to deputise for the Chief Engineer on occasion.
- You will assist with delivery of all engineering aspects within your area of responsibility as defined in the assignment specification or objectives including managing the acquisition safety aspects and equipment Through Life Support (TLS).
- Advise and assist with the implementation of any governance and assurance policies and procedures, to ensure the 'safe & professional’ status of the area led.

**Person specification**
- Relevant Level 4 (HNC or higher) qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
