**Overview**:
The Health and Safety Assistant's main responsibilities and duties in this post are:

- To be responsible for the training administration of the Health & Safety teams training courses. This includes the booking of external trainers (where required) and venues, advertising the courses, booking delegates on to the courses, sending out all the joining instructions, producing certificates of attendance and maintaining the team’s training financial spreadsheet.
- Monitoring of all accident reports and, when required in conjunction with Health & Safety Advisors, carry out preliminary investigations where necessary and offer general advice on follow up actions.
- Assist the Health & Safety Advisors in carrying out routine Health & Safety activities, such as Health & Safety inspections, preparing risk assessments, audits, visits, and telephone advice.
- Responsible for preparing Health & Safety information to be published on both the Intranet and SchoolsWeb.
- To assist in research and project work within the Health & Safety team as directed by the Head of Health & Safety.

**About the role**:
This job share role is largely based at home, with the ability to work from the office if preferred. There is an opportunity for flexible working.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To set up and maintain the administration of the Schools Training Programme, answering queries from schools on training as appropriate.
- To carry out the ordering, setting up of limit orders and implementing the training charging sheets for the service,
- To help to maintain the Health and Safety Accident database (AssessNet), setting up new user accounts and supporting the Team to deliver reports from the system.
- Support the Team in the administration associated with projects that they are working on, this may include supporting the auditing process, formatting risk assessments and guidance.

Mobile:
A ‘mobile’ role gives you the flexibility to schedule your own diary, so you can meet with colleagues and clients in a variety of locations. You’ll access digital folders and resources on your laptop and be able to use the network wherever you are based. Working from home will be common, as well as meeting your team in the office where necessary.

Good communication skills are essential as the post holder will be required to liaise with a number of Schools and Services on a daily basis.
