Temporary Works Designer

With an ever-expanding workload Binnies is recruiting a Temporary Works Designer to join our growing Water Consultancy business. The team consults, delivers and manages geotechnical engineering for Critical Human Infrastructure projects in the Water and Flood Risk Management sector for clients including The Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Local Authorities and Water Utility Companies.

The temporary works designer will work in the design team carrying out detailed design and checking of temporary works and minor permanent works. They will provide technical support to assist with Binnies operational activities for our projects across the UK.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparation and checking of detailed technical designs (including calculations, drawings, risk assessments and design certificates).
- Undertaking preliminary designs for third-party technical approvals
- Providing technical information/advice to site teams regarding temporary works.
- Assisting with both maintaining and developing processes, procedures, and standards for technical design.
- Obtaining or providing pricing for estimating purposes

**Qualifications/Requirements**

You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

- Degree in Relevant Subject - Civil Engineering
- Motivated to work on flood and coastal risk management and water projects
- Understand the importance of budget and programme control
- Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
- Ability to design, plan and organise tasks
- Collaborative individual that helps to build strong effective teams
- Ability to liaise with internal clients to develop relationships across the business
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving as an individual and as part of a team with a desire to find a solution
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be driven to develop and improve your technical skills and advance your career.
