**Background**

Pure Insights International is a successful organisation providing a range of counselling, training and psychological services firm to Employment, Justice, Housing and Corporate sectors.

Pure Insights International’s Teams consists of a group of highly qualified and registered counsellors who provide direct client services as well as support to Service providers.

The purpose of the Team Leader _| _Counsellor role is to provide support for a team of counsellors while engaging with a caseload of direct client services.

**Key Accountabilities**

The key accountabilities of this role cover duties that relate to the job purpose and may include other duties that are incidental or secondary to the job purpose.

**PRIMARY OBJECTIVES**:
To ensure that the counsellors provide an effective service provision that is appropriate and responsive to the needs of the clients and internal and external stakeholders it services.

To coordinate and support clinical projects as identified by the Clinical Manager.

To assist the Clinical Manager to develop, implement and monitor Pure Insights Internationals clinical quality improvement programme.

To ensure that all counsellors receive adequate performance management, clinical supervision, training and support to realise their potential in the performance of their duties.

To ensure adequate communication and flow of information takes place between counsellors, management and other relevant Pure Insights International staff.

To represent Pure Insights International with identified stakeholders and contribute clinical expertise and knowledge to Pure Insights International policy input.

The role can be 4 or 5 days a week.

**DUTIES**:
Clinical caseload:

- Provide professional counselling and psychological services to clients on personal and professional issues affecting employment, vocational and personal matters on a weekly basis with efficient time management.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of mental health issues including but not limited to mood disorders, depression, suicide, anxiety, psychotic disorders, grief and loss, personality disorders, sexual assault, drug addiction, substance abuse, and ex-offender history.
- Develop case conceptualisation
- Follow up support for clients in person and via telephone.
- Provide appropriate client referrals and advocate on behalf of clients.
- Use of multiple therapeutic approaches and/or interventions appropriate to the clients (e.g., CBT, ACT, MI, strength based, DBT).
- Conduct suicide risk assessment and perform intervention according to Pure Insights International guidelines.
- Understand and practise confidentiality, ethical conduct (e.g., confidentiality maintenance), duty of care and self-care.
- Maintain daily case notes to provide Pure Insights International with attendance, progress and recommendations using an agreed format.
- Provide debriefing for any third parties after counselling sessions with key focus on progress, referrals and recommendations with the client’s informed consent.
- Provide appropriate advice and recommendations to Site Mangers and Providers with feedback on client progress.
- Case management support and completing appropriate referrals for ongoing mental health and wellbeing interventions.
- Collect and evaluate client feedback.

To the counselling team members:

- Convene and coordinate weekly team catch-up meetings of their counselling team members.
- Oversee the level of performance, allocation of work, and the interaction of their counselling team members. Ensure quality assurance and case review processes are carried out within the team, enabling ongoing monitoring of quality and level of service in consultation with the Clinical Manager.
- Ensure all members of their counselling team receive adequate induction to the service and training and support according to their needs.
- Assist and guide counselling team members to maintain effective communication with other Pure Insights International staff members, relevant agencies and stakeholders.
- Ensure their counselling team members comply with allocation, documentation, occasions of service, attend mandatory meetings, and other administrative requirements associated with the position.
- Implement and maintain case review process with relevant counselling team members in accordance with Pure Insights’ International case review guidelines.
- Monitor adequacy and effectiveness of clinical supervision arrangements and other support strategies (e.g. - self-care strategies) for their counselling team members.

To the Clinical Manager:

- Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of Clinical Quality Improvement programme in consultation with the Clinical Manager.
- Provide assistance to the Clinical Manager in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Pure Insights International clinical policies, systems, and procedures.
