**Finance Assistant - Kingswinford, West Midlands - Up to £32,000 per annum**

**Are you a driven Finance Assistant, who thrives in a busy accounting environment? Do you enjoy tackling a variety of accounting tasks including Purchase ledger, sales ledger, and month end support?**

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Assistant to join our growing Finance team based at our HQ Kingswinford, West Midlands.

This exciting new role offers the opportunity of working in purchase ledger, providing sales ledger cover and supporting month-end tasks. You’ll play a vital role in our growing Finance team, supporting our Management Accountant and Financial Controller.

**Here’s what you’ll do**:
**Purchase Ledger**:

- Coding and processing invoices
- Supporting invoice approvers on queries
- Processing cash and company credit cards and ensuring compliance with VAT.
- Supplier statement reconciliation
- Onboarding new suppliers and maintain up to date records.
- Investigate and respond to queries raised via the shared team inbox.

**Sales Ledger (team cover)**:

- Providing team cover when required, support raising invoices, managing cash flow, and keeping debtors on track.

**Month End & Analysis**:

- Supporting our Management Accountant and Financial Controller with crucial month end tasks and analysis.

**Process Improvement**:

- Collaborate on streamlining workflows, automating processes, and keeping our financial function future-proof.

**To excel in this role, you'll need to be**:

- AAT Level 3 qualified (AAT Level 4 preferred)
- Educated to A Level standard with a minimum of Grade 5 (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
- Proven experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger and month-end accounting tasks
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and its impact on P&L and Balance Sheet
- Experience with a mainstream ERP system (ie Oracle, SAP, Dynamics 365) is an advantage
- Strong understanding of relevant UK VAT
- Prior experience within a similar role.
