QA Software Tester Apprenticeship

**Job Description:
- **
As a Software Tester Apprentice, you will focus on maintaining the quality of the software that is released by the development teams. This role will work closely with the software development and escalation technicians within the support team. You will be working closely with the other members of the QA team, who will help to mentor you and will offer guidance. The role will be a mixture of QA development (improving/maintaining automated testing) and manual QA testing, with thorough documentation.
**Duties:

- Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities.
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify quality requirements.
- Monitor debugging process results. Investigate the causes of non-conforming software.
**Working hours:

Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17:30.
**Desired Skills:
- **
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
- Proven work experience in software development and/or software quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Knowledge with white box and black box testing.
- Knowledge with automated testing tools.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with the.NET framework.
- Knowledge of performance and/or security testing.
- Knowledge of unit testing

- 4 A Levels (3Cs 1B, at least 1 Math or Computing)
**Benefits**
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, there is an opportunity for full-time employment or progression within Tevalis.
The successful applicant will complete and obtain a Software Testing Level 4 Qualification through Learning Curve Group.
You will be taught through:
- 4-6 weekly 1-2-1 sessions with your tutor
- 6 hours per week to complete the apprenticeship
- The course is a 18 month programme
