Our client is looking for an Experienced Machinist Fitter to join their Southampton Service Centre.

*Our client: *

Our client has been established since 1834 and are worldwide with 100 service sites.

They provide cutting-edge parts as well as maintenance and repair solutions for pumps, turbines, compressors, motors and generators. They do service their own equipment but also all their associated third-party rotating equipment ran by their cusotmers.

They cover many indrustries such as:

- Construction
- Transportation
- Power Generation

*In this role you will be accountable for: *
- Operation of large, manual machine tools such as Vertical Borers, Horizontal Borers, Lathes and Milling Machines
- Machining of items during the repair process or manufacture of new items
- Accurately reading engineering drawings and written instruction
- Usage of measurement equipment such as micrometres and verniers. Clear and concise documentation and generation of dimensional sizes and runouts

*About you: *
- You will need experience of machining small to heavy industrial components (Essential)
- Have a background from a wide range of industries (power, steel, crushing, mining, forging, cement, chemical, power, rail, oil, gas or water) (Essential)
- Be apprentice trained/time served machining qualification (Essential)
- Experience of working within a heavy engineering background
- You need experience of using large, manual machine tools
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written
- A strong and dedicated approach to Health & Safety and the desire to positively participate in improving of the Health & Safety culture of the organisation
