Fitter Machinist

My Southampton based client is looking for a Fitter / Machinist to join their busy team to work on many different marine projects along the South Coast.

You will be experienced in using Lathes, Mills and pillar drills in a heavy engineering workshop, you will have no problems reading and working from detailed engineering drawings, to manufacture from new.

Having a valid driving license, you will enjoy the variety of going out to different sites, in a company van, to fit various parts, and carry out repairs.

The projects you work on will include working on engines, gear boxes and pumps.

Starting rate would be £17.15 for the first 3 months after the trial if both sides are happy this would be increased to £18.15 - so much opportunity for overtime and expenses are always covered.

Now we know these aren’t self-employed rates, but you do get holiday pay, company pension and are always looked after.
