Head of Partnership

In addition to its constellation, Spire’s data infrastructure includes a global ground station network and 24/7 operations that provide real-time global coverage of every point on Earth.
**Spire operates a hybrid-work model and this position will need to work from our Cambridge, ON office 3x per week.**
Spire’s proprietary data and algorithms provide the most advanced maritime, aviation, and weather tracking in the world. In addition to its constellation, Spire’s data infrastructure includes a global ground station network, a peta-byte data vault for advanced analytics and AI/ML exploitation, and 24/7 operations that provide near real-time global coverage of every point on Earth.
As it is further developing innovative data solutions integrating varied data streams from third parties, Spire is looking for a Head of Partnership to build and maintain a network of even the most niche data providers who collect and share relevant data sets which Spire ingests, processes, and distributes as packaged data products.
This position requires an autonomous, innovative self-starter who is keen to develop strategic partnership plans and relationships for novel and unique data sets, understanding the needs and value proposition of small and very small niche players, with new and innovative business models. In parallel, the Head of Partnership will collaborate daily with internal Spire stakeholders to drive meaningful engagements with prospects and partners.
**Responsibilities of your role**:
- Elaborate creative strategies and tactics to identify, negotiate with and sign new data providers to further expand Spire’s product portfolio;
- Elaborate a channel strategy to generate leads for new partnerships through third parties;
- Elaborate supporting materials to pitch partnership opportunities to leads;
- Own negotiations with potential providers and help structure resulting documentation together with key stakeholders (Legal and Compliance Team, Finance Team, etc.);
- Ensure partnerships deliver on promises to customers and partners;
- Oversee partnership performance and ensure alignment with business goals;
- Eventually manage one Partnership Developer supporting all of the above activities;
- Travel might be required, less than 10% of time expected;
**Qualifications / Experience**:
- 4+ years of SaaS corporate development or sales experience, ideally in a startup,
- 2+ years of SaaS partnership experience;
- Deep international experience across multiple countries, including navigating the cultural, contractual, and regulatory environment;
- Innovative, curious mindset with an interest to develop novel partnership approaches for new and unique data sets, understanding the needs and value proposition of small and very small niche players, with new and novel business models;
- Demonstrable record of building successful partnership relationships that drive real results;
- Data-driven and capable of tracking and presenting results;
- Passionate about technology and business strategy;
- Clear communicator with an ability to inspire internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work effectively when multiple stakeholders are involved in driving outcomes;
- Ability to successfully and efficiently manage a wide variety of relationships;
- Experience in data product business;
- Ability to understand technological concepts (RF data specifications, API capabilities, API development process, structure of visualization solutions, etc.) and to communicate with technical stakeholders;
- History of driving growth and manage projects in a high-growth, rapidly evolving organization;
