**The setting**:
Carolyn’s Childcare is a small, home-based setting providing childcare and early education to children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years, and out-of-school care for school aged children. We are dedicated to promoting self-esteem and independence and providing children with the confidence to solve problems themselves.

The setting offers children a family atmosphere and the opportunity to spend considerable time outdoors in local parks and woods and exploring the wider community.

**The job**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team. Duties will include
- Being a proactive member of a staff team who provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
- Assisting with the implementation of individual learning/behaviour plans and personal care programmes
- Assisting in the setting up and clearing away of activities as required
- Assisting in the preparation, serving and clearing of meals and snacks
- Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Encouraging children to interact with others and engage in activities
- Recording and sharing observations of the children highlighting engagement, achievement, and development
- Helping maintain a purposeful and supportive environment
- Using strategies, in liaison with the Early Years Teacher, to support children
- Promoting positive behaviour in line with established policy
- Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection and confidentiality reporting any concerns to an appropriate person
- understand and respect the need for consistency of care for children, to include assistance in providing a safe, supportive & caring environment
- be a good communicator with children and other staff, using appropriate language in line with the setting ethos and being polite and courteous at all times.
- be aware of and support difference and ensure all children have equal opportunities to play, learn and develop
- be able to establish constructive relationships with the children and interact with them according to individual needs
- maintain confidentiality about all issues relating to children and their families; their own and other staff members issues & any other management or operational issues.

Formal childcare qualifications or prior experience are an advantage but are not as important as a genuine desire to work with children

Salary is dependant on experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
