**Roles**:
**Assist in**:

- Retention of existing clients through delivering amazing training session experience
- Keeping all clients safe, entertained, and providing value at each session
- Cultivate a fun, community atmosphere in the business
- Promotion of all internal offers (both supplements and internal specialty programs) and internal events held by the business by announcing them with the intention of getting clients excited before the session. Not done as an afterthought.
- Keeping a spotless facility (training floor, common areas & bathrooms).

**Requirements**:
Must be high energy. Must not be selfish or self-centered. Must be a professional and a team player. Must understand that this is a business and in order to help people and provide for all employees, it must be profitable. Must LOVE appreciating customers and giving them an amazing experience to retain them and keep them coming back. Must give EXCEPTIONAL service. Must greet all clients BY NAME within 10 sec. of walking into the facility (run over to them if needed). Must provide value and encouragement to each individual that participates in class that day. Understanding that the reason it is called work is because the position requires WORK.

**Dress Code**:
**Shirts**: While coaching you should be wearing a clean unworn Fortitude branded shirt, jacket, or hoodie. It is ok for the top layer (ie: jacket) not to be Fortitude branded as long as the base layer shirt is Fortitude gear and Fortitude branding is visible. You should not have sweat stains or soaked from sweat due to previous workouts. It should not be wrinkled or unprofessional looking.

You should be easily recognisable to an outsider coming into the gym that you are the professional coach on duty.

**Shorts & Pants**:You should have athletic shorts or pants on while coaching. No jeans, no spandex unless it’s a base layer with pants or shorts over top. Nothing too short, too tight or too revealing.

**Presenable**

In general, be well-groomed, presentable, and professional at all times. Your experience speaks volumes to clients about their perception of you as a professional and you are asking them to invest in you.

**Footwear**: Footwear should be athletic shoes. Shoes must be worn at all times while coaching/PTs/Consultations.

**Personal Hygiene**:
**Teeth**: Brushed and Flossed, you represent the whole coaching staff on the floor.

**Fresh Breath**:You are acting in close proximity to clients while speaking. Your breath should be fresh at all times.

**Hair**:Your hair should be well groomed and well maintained. This includes beards, mustaches, etc.

If you arrive for work without your uniform, you are REQUIRED to purchase clothing suitable for your duties that day.

You will be provided with appropriate Fortitude clothing - for COACHES, this means:
2 Fortitude T-shirts & a jacket/hoodie

Coaches are able to purchase more Fortitude clothing at a discount.

**Staff Parking - on site**

**Starting the Shift**
- Early AM Session Coaches always set two alarms. (one should be battery-operated)
- Be showered, uniformed and ready to go a minimum 10 minutes prior to session.
- Complete the Opening Task List. (If first shift of day)
- Ensure you have read and listened to the workout and have crafted a gamplan.
- Always have workout displayed on board prior to clients arriving.
- Greet customers with a smile enthusiastically within 10 sec. of walking in the door
- Spot check the facility to make sure nothing is out of place
- Start every class on time

**During Initial Round-Up**
- Must read over internal promotions of the week so it sounds smooth when presenting it to the clients
- Explain the context of the day
- Demonstrate movements efficiently and effectively
- Focus on key points of performance in high-technique movements and overall strategies to get the correct response from the workout
- Provide appropriate scaling and modifications
- Review points of performance
- Showcase good form vs bad form, and discuss where the form is likely to break down
- Set clients up for success and a feeling of accomplishment, not of defeat.

**During Sessions**
- Never be on your phone, or distracted from your responsibilities
- You should sweat from motion
- Demonstrate all exercises prior to having anyone start.
- Try and engage with every client as many times as possible
- Never sit down
- Do not carry items (shaker, water bottle, etc.) with you while you coach
- Do not stay in one spot, constantly pace the room
- Show don’t tell. Demonstrate when someone is having issues.
- Maintain organisation to ensure safety and efficiency

**End of Class**
- Finish the session in good time to allow for next session to start on time
- Encourage score tracking
- Promote community and culture
- Provide cool-down suggestions

**End of Shift**:

- Clean up anything left out after workouts.
- Say goodbye to all customers with a genuine smile.
- Close up as directed via Close Chec
