The core function of the PGME Department is to ensure medical education and training across the Trust meets national, local and professional quality standards. Delivering Postgraduate Medical Education is embedded in the Trust’s strategic goals. It is recognised that high quality medical education has a significant downstream effect and not only raises the quality of service provision but also the quality of doctors’ attracted to work at the Trust and the quality of patient experience. **Main duties of the job**:
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) has a strong track record for educating doctors in training. Every year the trust educates all levels of doctors in Foundation, GP, IMT Specialty and academic, leadership and research programmes, as well as ensuring the supervision and development of Clinical Fellows and Physician Associates. The Trust aims to deliver high quality training to doctors at all levels.

Led by the Director of Medical Education and the Postgraduate Medical Education Manager, the Postgraduate Medical Education team work actively with all junior doctors and Physician associates to understand their education needs and to ensure they receive the appropriate level of support and training. Moreover those delivering education across the Trust are also supported and developed by the team.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
To be centrally responsible for all reporting requirements relating to Postgraduate Medical Education on behalf of the Trust; assisting with the development, monitoring and implementation of action plans as a result of any such visits or audit. The post holder will ensure senior staff complete their sections of both the reports and the action plans, ensuring that the action plans are SMART and that draft reports are produced for the Director of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education that are of a high standard. Negotiating and influencing senior staff throughout the organisation to ensure that actions plans are then fully implemented, escalating any issues to the Postgraduate Medical Education Head of Service and providing update reports on the status of events as required.

Additionally, to manage and provide administrative duties related to assessing, planning, and evaluating performance improvement and regulatory compliance for national and local standards relating to Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education within Salford Care Organisation.
