**Hourly Rate**:£11 per hour and £50 per sleep

**About us**

At Prosperity Children’s Service we provide care for vulnerable children and young people across the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area, within residential children and young people we provide. Our children and young people receive support from a small team of incredible Registered Managers and Support Workers who strive to engage, motivate, and instil confidence and life skills aiming for the best possible outcomes for our children, young people and families. Our support services range from working with children and families with short-term needs to delivering long-term bespoke support packages.

**Your key responsibilities as the Residential Support Worker**:
We have a number of exciting opportunities for Residential Support Workers to join our bank team within our brand new, beautifully furnished homes in the Accrington area. Our homes within the Accrington area are registered to accommodate between 1-4 children aged between 6-18 who have suffered trauma, child sexual exploitation and may be present emotional and behavioural difficulties.

As the Residential Support Worker, you will be working with our Outstanding Managers and will support your team with the overall running of the homes, care team and children in line with OFSTED legislation. You will be assisting in the promotion of good childcare practice in accordance with Prosperity Children’s Service Policies and Procedures. A key component of the role will be day to day support of the children in our care including household duties, cooking, shopping, laundry and adhering to safeguarding protocols in the home. The role is to ensure that all children receive appropriate care and education as required in their individualised care plans.

- Thrive in a team environment and be flexible with the ability to work a rota pattern
- Have experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviours including mental health and behavioural problems
- Be able to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and nights
- although flexible working will be considered
- Work alongside other passionate and inspiring support workers and instil motivation to the young people
- Be a part of helping the children and young people with their personal growth and development
- Hold experience of looking after children with emotional, behavioural, or mental health conditions, as such you will need to be compassionate, calm, resilient and understand the issues and challenges children face
- Good communication skills are a must. You may be required to spend lengthy amounts of time with service users therefore the ability to communicate well is essential
- Good written and verbal skills. This role involves paperwork and liaising with local authorities. Record keeping and report writing as well as verbally reporting is essential
- The ability to problem-solve, de-escalate, and divert attention

**Essential requirements**:

- Level 3 in Residential childcare or equivalent or be working towards this
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience of working within Children's homes and/or similar setting
