Compliance Officer

BRAC Saajan Exchange Ltd (BSEL), a subsidiary of BRAC Bank Limited, is incorporated in England and Wales, and

provides money transfer service from residents in UK, predominantly the Bangladeshi community, to Residents of

Bangladesh. The money transfer sector is a highly regulated and competitive sector. It is absolutely vital for us to

provide a service that is 100% compliant.

Purpose:
Transaction Monitoring Queue Oversight and investigations. Onboarding of Agents. Customer due diligence (CDD),

Sanctions due diligence (SDD) and Enhanced due diligence (EDD) oversight. The role will encompass the following

core responsibilities but are not limited to these only, there will be further additional tasks which will be discussed

during the interview and upon selection, a more comprehensive Job Description will be provided.

Core Responsibilities:
Transactions and Agent oversight
- Responsible for the analysis of the BRAC Saajan Transaction Monitoring (TM) Queue investigations. These

transactions are automatically referred by the BRAC Saajan ‘REMIT’ system. Once analysed, you will decide the
next course of action to be taken which may include escalation of your findings to the MLRO.
- Reviewing security queue decisions periodically from the customer services REMIT queue on a sampling basis, to

ensure acceptable reasoning for their clearance (Sanctions & PEP screening results). If required, review any
associated documentation as deemed necessary and suggest and remediation as required.
- Conduct manual screening for Enhanced Due Diligence through DOW JONES Financial Crime portal when

required
- Agent Onboarding assistance - Performing Agent due diligence for information collected and submitted by Sales.

These reviews include Politically Exposed Person (PEP), adverse media and sanctions checks
- Updating the REMIT risk assessments for Agents.
- AML and other MI dashboard analysis from Remit and create Monthly Reports for the MLRO
- Reporting suspicious or unusual activity by Agents, customers or staff to the MLRO via iUSARs (internal unusual

or suspicious activity reports) or face to face discussion.
- Providing accurate summaries detailing suggested actions to HOFCC
- Manage the tracking and escalation of cases identified.
- Liaise with IT regarding the effective functioning and further in house development requirements of the system.
- Ad hoc, Low and high-risk transaction reviews
- Customer and Agent transaction targeting
- Analyse client data in accordance with instructions of MLRO
- KYC on Corresponding banks (following Wolfsburg principles)

Skill required:

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial crime position relevant to the job description in relevant field,

i.e. bank and or financial institution
- Excellent computer, communication skills and interpersonal skills, and able to work as a team player
- Enthusiastic and quick learner
- A good awareness of anti-money laundering & terrorist financing regulations
- A good understanding of the concept of investigations and the ability to demonstrate/explain this if selected for

interview
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Reporting to: Head of Financial Crime Compliance & MLRO

Monday to Friday - 9am until 6pm (45 minutes unpaid lunch break)

**Salary**: £25,000 to £30,000 gross per annum (Depending on Experience)
