This role leads delivery of the enterprise risk management process across the QinetiQ Group, with operations in three primary markets: UK, US and Australia. The role is charged with delivering the risk management strategy for the company using leadership skills, stakeholder networks and excellent business skills.

The role will oversee implementation and improvement in risk and business continuity management, taking account of all relevant domains, seeking ways to optimize risk management in the organization as a competitive business advantage. The role will support all activities necessary to enable QinetiQ to respond to a business interruption. The role will actively support businesses in development of their local plans and in exercising business continuity plans at all levels.

Key Accountabilities

1. Implementation and management of the Enterprise Risk Management framework.

2. Overall facilitation of the Enterprise Risk Management process and provision of risk management delivery support to businesses and group functions.

3. Embedding risk management in every aspect of operational delivery.

4. Ensuring risks are managed effectively & efficiently, with clear results.

5. Delivery of training and mentoring programs for Enterprise Risk Management.

6. Function as the central focal point for all risk management disciplines across global business units and group functions

7. Engage and communicate intent and expectations to stakeholders through multiple channels

8. Serving as the UK lead for activities as assigned under the purview of the Chief Risk Officer.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- Strategic thinker: Optimising the Group Enterprise Risk strategy in close collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer in order to enable the Group to meet internal compliance obligations and deliver competitive business advantage through effective management of risk.
- Customer orientated: Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different target audiences, for example to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks.
- Results Oriented: focused on improvement of business results through effective risk management.
- Collaboration and Influence: working effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders around enterprise risk management and business continuity planning.
- People and Organizational Development: developing risk management competency of others and the business as a whole.

Experience & Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Risk Management frameworks.
- Evidence of designing and implementing Risk Management and Business Continuity Management frameworks in the defence and technology domains.
- Proven success in crisis management.
- Demonstrable international experience. Successful business engagement with different countries and working to achieve best results with a broad range of cultures.
- Risk Management accreditation or certification desirable.
