**Job description**

We have an exciting opportunity available for a **Commerical Assistant** to join our great team.

**Main Duties**:
**Key Functions include -**
- Preparing quotations/tenders
- Following up quotations with a view to securing business
- Arranging shipping
- Assisting Financial Controller with monthly cost of sales reports
- Entering sales orders onto business system
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Managing purchasing functions
- Expediting purchase orders
- Attending exhibitions and sales events where required which could be overseas

**Hours of Work**:
Normal working hours are between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 1.00pm Friday.

**Holidays**:
In a full year the paid entitlement is 25 days plus statutory holidays pro rata.

**Benefits**:
After the required qualifying period the Company provides additional benefits relating to Sickness/Injury and Pension etc.

**General**:
The above position is permanent upon completion of a successful 3 month trial period.

**Education & Experience Required**:

- A technical background within electrical or mechanical engineering is desirable but not absolutely essential. This experience could have been obtained through higher education or work experience.
- A previous track record of working in a business-to-business environment would be highly advantageous.
- Experience dealing with customers in either an engineering capacity or a relevant sales position.
- Be an excellent communicator who is able to deliver information effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
- Have strong organisational skills, in order to effectively plan tasks and maximise results.
- Competent user of Microsoft Word/Exel/Powerpoint etc
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

**Personal Attributes**:
In addition to the expected key attributes of honesty, good time keeping, enthusiasm, good communication skills etc or it is essential that the applicant has a desire to be actively engaged in this role as we require a doer not a delegator.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
