The Radiology Care Group is looking to appoint a research coordinator to coordinate all trust wide research projects which involve radiology procedures. This is a critical administration role and the appointee will be expected to develop good working relationships with both the clinical teams in radiology and also the trust wide Research and Development team.

You will be responsible for the coordination of the radiology components of all Trust wide research projects with involvement from trial set up. You will provide a range of services to the radiology Care Group including liaising with stakeholders during set up of clinical trials, managing the processes for ascertaining radiology clinical, managerial, financial and operational approval.
Managing data and information to evidence workflows and also ensure financial income is identified and secured.

This pivotal role will also raise the profile of clinical trials within radiology and ensure trials are properly conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research governance framework and are compliant with the EU Directive for clinical trials. The role will include management of the radiology clinical trials governance including all Radiology Imaging Management Group (RIMG) meetings.

We are looking for a reliable, professional, team player who is motivated to support the delivery of research, with attention to detail and good organisational skills working across organisational boundaries.
You need to be proactive, calm under pressure and have good written and verbal communication skills.
You will require the ability to work under your own initiative, prioritising tasks and managing deadlines as appropriate.
You will have relevant experience in conducting or organising clinical research trials/or similar projects in an NHS organisation.

The Radiology Care Group provides a diverse range of specialist diagnostic and interventional services on the Southampton General Hospital site. The UHS radiology service is one of the largest services in the south of England and is a regional centre for the provision of Neuro science, cardiothoracic and paediatrics. Radiology is involved in a range of commercial and non commercial research trials and supports research radiographers and research consultants.
