Woodbridge, United Kingdom East Suffolk Council Full time

**East Suffolk Council, East Suffolk House (IP12 1RT)**:

- **£27,344 - £30,151 per annum**:

- **37 hours per week**:

- **18 month fixed term contract**

**East Suffolk Council** is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Warm Homes Healthy People Team as a **Project Coordinator.**

We are a friendly team bound by a common desire to improve housing, health, and the safety of some of Suffolk’s most vulnerable residents. There are two roles available, one servicing the East Suffolk area and one the West Suffolk area.

**Your role**:
You will work as part of the Warm Homes Healthy People team, a team dedicated to reducing the health impacts of fuel poverty, supporting households across Suffolk with support ranging from small interventions to those worth tens of thousands of pounds. Warm Homes Healthy People sits within the wider East Suffolk Council Private Sector Housing team, responsible for supporting private households and landlords with ensuring safe, good quality housing in East Suffolk.

There are 4.4 million electricity pre-payment meters and 3.4 million gas prepayment meters across Great Britain. In England, 29% of electricity pre-payment meter customers are fuel poor and those customers typically pay £100 more per year than those paying by direct debit. These pre-payment customers have increased cost and inconvenience, a higher likelihood of disconnection and excess cold hazards in the home, increasing the likelihood of deteriorations of pre-existing long term health conditions, specifically respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.

**What you will need**:
We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who is passionate about making a difference to some of those hit the hardest by the energy price rises. The role will involve building partnerships, promotion and delivery of community events, and completing household visits across their East/West Suffolk patches, so access to transport will be essential.
