We’re looking for a **Cost Planner** to join Kier Construction in our Mechanical and Electrical business unit in Basingstoke.

**Location**: Basingstoke

**Contract**: Permanent**, **full time.

**Responsibilities**

To manage the resources (people and finance) of the assigned Bids or projects to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of cost planning activities. To assess, review, create opportunities, mitigate risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management. To manage the cost planning processes and make sure ‘win’ and ‘delivery’ strategies are factored in.

To implement all Kier Group's policies including those for SHE and risk management. To promote Kier Group’s values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry.

Your day to day will include:

- To have overview & ownership of all cost planning activities.
- Work collaboratively with the project management team and Kier construction colleagues to deliver in accordance with Group.
- To implement and comply with Kier Group's SHE policy and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice on projects across all functions.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Using software for take offs and measuring
- Obtaining / analysing bidding / outturn cost data to provide BCIS benchmark data and specific key rate data guides.
- Accurately interpreting client briefs and initial design information to prepare cost plans that reflect / support the vision.
