**Introduction**

Our client is a medium sized mutual Building Society and this is a new role in the business as they redefine their distribution strategy with new innovative products. You will be leading the Intermediary and Direct Mortgage Sales teams, but the focus ison building the future mortgage proposition strategy and how it will be delivered through innovative pricing and products, focussing on both margin and volume. You will thus be working closely with the Marketing and Product teams on new product and criteriadevelopment, product distribution and communication strategies.

This role is part of the senior leadership team and will have a voice at Board level, so very important to have first class strategic report writing and presentation skills.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Setting mortgage sales strategies and subsequent team objectives supportive of the Society’s business plan. Identify and build stakeholder groups aligned to meeting key strategic objectives.
- Oversee the setting of team and individual KPIs in accordance with their respective objectives.
- Strategic ownership of Key Account Relationships (Mortgage Clubs, Networks and Packagers) with a view to long-lasting, resilient and beneficial relationships.
- Ownership of third-party relationships and contractual term setting which include: Twenty7Tec (inc. APPLY), Mortgage Brain (and subsidiaries), Iress/Trigold, Mortgage Broker Tools and Knowledge Bank.
- Ensure the Society’s mortgage products and proposition are suitably represented across sourcing systems and other distribution platforms.
- Identify opportunities to grow Society lending areas, researching, and presenting recommendations at the relevant committee meetings as appropriate.
- Development of the mortgage digital proposition and end to end customer experience, including due diligence processes and onboarding.
- Ownership and management of the Sales budget to ensure optimisation of spend without exceeding the agreed annual budget.
- Oversight of mortgage sales fieldwork including representation of the Society at external industry events and meetings where required, identifying and leading the establishment and servicing of new relationships.

**Background/ Experience/Skills/Qualifications**:

- Proven experience of devising and executing successful intermediated mortgage strategies
- Proven experience of managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales targets
- Excellent leadership skills and experience of running a sales team
- Strong understanding of the workings of intermediary mortgage sourcing systems
- Strong understanding of the specialist lending sector
- Outstanding report writing and presentation abilities
- Proven experience of devising and executing successful direct to consumer mortgage strategies and understanding of consumer aggregator websites (desirable)

With the requirement to be onsite limited to key meetings, you could live anywhere through the UK, expectations after the first month (when you might be there on a weekly basis) is for 2-3 days a month, the rest in the field with the team and WFH. This isa great opportunity to for someone with Sales Management experience in the specialist mortgage sector to really define and lead the distribution strategy of a lender.
