**Overview**:
An opportunity has become available at Buckinghamshire Council for a Senior Regeneration Officer. We are investing in our towns and major villages through an ambitious regeneration programme to create vibrant and successful town centres and high streets. We are looking to appoint a **Senior Regeneration Officer** to join a team of enthusiastic place-making regeneration officers to deliver fantastic outcomes for our towns and villages.

**About the role**:
This role sits in the service area of Economic Growth and Regeneration (EG&R), in Buckinghamshire Council. EG&R has responsibility for delivering Buckinghamshire’s Regeneration Programme and capital investment, ensuring that businesses and town centres are supported through targeted economic development initiatives and for supporting the work of the Buckinghamshire Growth Board delivering alongside all Bucks’ partners to achieve the long-term place-based vision.

EG&R sits in the Council’s Planning, Growth and Sustainability Corporate Directorate as a cross-cutting function working across Planning, Strategic Transport, Property, and Housing. As such, recruitment to roles in EG&R could come from a number of different professional backgrounds which support good ‘place-making’ including planning, transport, capital project development, stakeholder engagement, economic development, policy development and place management/development and programme management.

Reporting to the Area Regeneration Manager, the Senior Regeneration Officer works across a variety of our Buckinghamshire communities, all with unique opportunities and challenges. Ambitious regeneration plans are being developed for our three largest towns, High Wycombe, Chesham and Aylesbury. This role has a specific focus on High Wycombe and Chesham although you may be required to work across multiple towns and villages including Aylesbury, as the service requires. Buckinghamshire is fortunate to have many other smaller towns and larger villages that are included in the Regeneration Programme. The new Senior Regeneration Officer will be driving initiatives forward across a variety of places and tackling an assortment of issues and harnessing opportunities.

**Any-Desk**:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

**About you**:
The Senior Regeneration Officer role is regeneration strategy to project initiation focused and requires strong project management skills as well as the ability to work effectively across a number of diverse stakeholders to ensure collaboration. We are looking for an individual who can bring local strategies together with effective local decision-making to harness investment and enact initiatives. The role is varied which involves leading projects, collaborating with other technical teams in the Council, community and business engagement, and writing reports, developing business cases and funding bids.

Naturally, you’ll have excellent interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation skills with experience of co-ordinating internal and external partnership working. You will understand the local government environment and will be astute in collaborating with Partners and stakeholders, ensuring the Council’s strategic objectives are met and growth outcomes are delivered. You’ll come to us with the relevant specialist experience of developing long-term place making strategies and will want to further grow that here in Bucks. Most importantly, you’ll be commercially focussed and enjoy building new relationships, with the welfare of our residents at the heart of what you do. You will also have great writing skills, being able to develop business cases for initiatives and articulating ideas from inception to delivery ready projects. Your career experience thus far will lend well to working with technical place making colleagues to ensure coordination and alignment across council strategies to deliver shared objectives.
