**Job description**:
The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is the UK Type Approval Authority and ensures that road vehicles meet the required safety and environmental standards as required by GB, UK, and UNECE regulations.

Our Portfolio is at the heart of both business improvement and new technology and regulatory changes. This is an exciting and interesting role that puts you at the heart of delivering key portfolio responsibilities. You will be involved in a variety of activities and play a key role in the smooth running of the portfolio & it’s projects. You’ll work closely with Programme and Project Managers gaining exposure to and experience of high-profile projects.

This is a great opportunity if you want to build a career in Programme and Project management. If you wanted to progress, there is the potential to gain formal qualifications, such as Prince or Agile, as part of your development plan.

**Your main duties will include but will not be limited to**:

- Managing appropriate processes and systems to enable effective planning and scheduling of programmes and projects.
- Assisting in maintaining project controls and in producing project reports.
- Assisting in Assurance review activities as required
- Organising key portfolio meetings, workshops and events.
- Assisting with maintaining the Change Tracker for internal and external stakeholders.
- Acting as the focal point for project responses to external requests for information.
- Assisting with the monitoring of project spend and contributing to the compilation of budgets.
- Assisting with and maintaining risk and issue logs, escalating as appropriate.
- Helping and guiding lower-level changes through a structured change process

**Person specification**:
**About you**

To thrive in this role, you will have previous experience of managing administration processes as well as working with stakeholders at all levels of the business
- You will need a basic understanding of the principles of project delivery.
- You will be proficient using MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Teams, MS Project and/or Visio and SharePoint.

This is a busy role which requires someone who is organised, proactive and able to work at pace.

**Additional information**

This role may include occasional UK travel.

A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
