**Portfolio Planner**

Reporting to: Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Manager

**ROLE PURPOSE**

**This role will work with the Infrastructure, IT, and Business Change programme and project management teams to develop lifecycle schedules/programmes including capturing interdependencies, milestones, critical path analysis for projects, programmes, and portfolios, and nurturing a deep geographical understanding of project sites in the context in a constrained estate to develop an accessible roadmap for the business to understand at the touch of a button.**

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Accountable for development of client-side baseline schedules/programmes, covering all aspects of concept, definition, procurement, deployment, transition, closure, and benefits realisation, establishing the critical path for each project.
- Monitor client-side schedules/programmes to ensure they are updated to accurately reflect progress (including on-site assessments for construction projects, in collaboration with BRS Quantity Surveyors) and compare progress to baseline schedules/programmes.
- Capture and report on interdependencies between portfolios, programmes, and projects, escalating any issues or risks within the PMO.
- Develop portfolio and project critical path analysis.
- Collaborate with external Quantity Surveyors/Contractors/Vendors to ensure alignment between supplier-side and client-side schedule/programme forecasts and assumptions.
- Review risk and opportunities for client-side schedules/programmes and contribute potential mitigation measures, including float and risk contingency.
- Contribute to project risk/issue analysis during RAID (risk, assumption, issue & dependency) reviews with Project Managers.
- Understand physical and geographical constraints of the Bristol Airport site (site boundaries and internal buildings) to develop an understanding of physical interdependencies and conflicts that may present a risk to schedules/programmes.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential**
- Previous experience of Microsoft Project/Project Online, Asta Powerproject and/or transferrable skills from other scheduling/programming software.
- 5+ years of planning experience including on-site interaction.
- Experience of planning schedules/programmes for investment plans of £50m+ per annum.
- Previous experience of balancing multiple construction projects in a constrained site/workspace.
- Confident in building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, including Executives (with support).
- Good time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills, with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to set expectations clearly.
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams).

**Desirable**
- Previous experience of Microsoft Project for the Web.
- Experience of planning for Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) handovers and Operation Readiness Activation & Transition (ORAT) within project schedules/programmes, particularly in readiness for Go/No Go decisions and transition into service.
- Previous experience working in project environment.
- Experience in a busy Portfolio Management Office environment.
- Articulate communication skills, both verbal and written.
- APM awareness and exploration.

**Flexible working**

This role has the benefit of flexible working, and as a team we are very flexible for all types of events, but with a large investment programme ahead, it would be of benefit for essential internal stakeholder relationship development and on-site progress analysis to be office-based 2-3 days each week during term-time.
