Job Summary
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced machinist to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton. At Moog, we're focused on the customer and for us, this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our engineers work to exceptionally close tolerance, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Manual honing experience
- Manual grinding experience (external, cylindrical)
- Experience of the setting and operating manual Sunnen Honing machines and Studer grinding machines - S20, RM250
- Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials
- Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation.
- Precision manual land grinding, working to achieve limits to 0.00005”
- Able to set and run multiple machine/processes

Key Expertise
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship
- Previous experience of engineering /manufacturing role ideally within aerospace industry
- Good knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling
- Proven skills within a multi-axis machining environment
- Programming experience is required
- Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement techniques
- Mate grinding experience is desirable
- Experience using ML5000 and Sunnen Honing machines required
- Using the relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance

This role may require the individual to work a nighttime shift pattern and overtime when requested.
