**Company Profile**

Working for a market leading manufacturing business with over 270 employees on site, they are poised for further growth and investment and seeking an experienced Supply Planner to join the Planning team for a fixed term of 15 months.

**Job Summary**

The successful applicant will co-ordinate internal and external supply, to plan and achieve forecast, with customer requirements as priority throughout.

Reporting accordingly on relevant KPIs and risk factors, keeping MAPICS updated for effective flow of information throughout the company.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Develops Production Plans that meet customer requirements and are in line with production capacity.
- Liaises cross functionally with all areas of Operations as required to maintain an accurate Production Plan.
- Supports the Planning Manager with the preparation of Production Plan Risk Analysis, Capacity Analysis and Planning Measures.
- Actions customer Defer & Expedite requests, where possible.
- Proactively liaises directly with the Customer Services team to feedback any changes to the Production Plan that may impact customer delivery.
- Publishes customer open order book schedules as requested.
- Attends and contributes to all relevant Planning / Operations meetings as required.
- Maintains and updates MAPICS data to ensure current accurate information is available to the wider business.
- Provides updates and recommendations to relevant business leaders on safety stock levels, resource requirements, schedule amendments as appropriate.
- Releases production work orders to manufacturing.
- Creates and issues open order books to vendors, analyses and challenges responses.
- Reviews and keys vendor acknowledgements into MAPICS
- Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade C or above
- Production Planning / Scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience preparing production plans against capacity hours, as well as exporting and analysing data
- Experience working with high volume part numbers and orders
- Use of an MRP production planning system, ideally MAPICS
- Good understanding of planning process requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident problem solver, who is able to facilitate change
