**The Role**
- Lancashire Football Association is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who can manage the fixture allocation of our workforce of Matchday Coaches and Observers across the county throughout the football season.

The ‘Referee Matchday Coach / Observer Coordinator' is responsible for the coordination of the Matchday Coach and Observer activities involving Lancashire FA Referees who are enrolled on to the FA Referee Progression Pathway. The role holder will also be responsible for assisting the Lancashire FA Referee Development Officer in deciding the training and development needs of all Matchday Coaches and Observers in Lancashire.

This is a voluntary role for the 2023/24 Season, with potential to extend for further seasons with an honorarium of £1,000 per season paid.

This voluntary role is based remotely, with occasional visits to Lancashire FA.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensure that each referee achieves their minimum requirement of Matchday Coaching or Observer visits/reports.
- Improve the overall quality of the Matchday Coach and Observer Workforce.
- Provide support and assistance to all Matchday Coaches and Observers throughout the season.
- Assist in increasing the number of active Matchday Coaches and Observers in Lancashire.
- Engage with training of new Matchday Coaches and Observers, whilst offering development opportunities for the current workforce.
- Ensure all Referee enrolled onto the pathway receive the minimum number of matchday coaching visits/observations they are required to achieve, as outlined within the FA Referee Progression Pathway Criteria.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accurate calendar of games available for observation as communicated by the Referees.
- Manage the appointments of Matchday Coaches / Observers to fixtures submitted by Referees.
- Keep an accurate record of all completed Matchday Coaching Reports / Observation Reports.
- Highlight to the Referee Development Officer any issues where a Referee is under-performing, or any major advice/development has been received.
- Ensure all Matchday Coaches / Observers are offering the correct advice and are marking Referees appropriately.
- Read / review all Matchday Coaching Report / Observations submitted, to ensure the written narrative is of the standard expected, and the mark awarded is appropriate.
- Provide the Referee Development Officer with a live merit table upon request (Applicable to Level 5- 4 & 4W-3W Only).
- Work collaboratively with the Referee Development Officer to organise training /education opportunities for Matchday Coaches and Observers, and ensure that the content is relevant.
- Work closely with the Referee Development Officer to identify individuals who are consistently performing to a high standard.
- Check and verify the Matchday Coach and Observer expense claims before sending them on to the Referee Development Officer for payment twice per season (December & May).

**What we are looking for**
- Essential
- Level 2 Maths and English.
- FA Safeguarding Children.
- A reasonable level of experience operating as a referee.
- A reasonable level of experience as a Matchday Coach and Observer.
- Experience of a referee appointments process.
- An understanding of the FA Referee Progression Pathway.
- Availability to attend Lancashire FA Referee Events when required.
- An ability to give guidance and advice through verbal or written feedback in a constructive manner.
- Good communication and IT skills.
- Experience in presenting or delivering training / education sessions.
- Desirable
- Experience in administration.
