A permanent shift engineer role for a contactor working on a science research campus near Cambridge.
**Your new company**
Hays are currently representing a national contractor who are looking for an (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Multi Skilled) Shift Engineer to join their team at a science research campus near Cambridge to provide both planned and reactive maintenance to all relevantelectrical and mechanical equipment, controlling and operating of building operational systems, with a clear focus on Energy and the Environment and ensuring compliance to relevant statutory legislation.
**Your new role**:

- Ensure that all relevant helpdesk tasks (both planned and reactive) are fully completed with sufficient information and completed in accordance with the defined timescales and SLAs
- Proactively monitor and improve the operation of building systems to ensure optimum performance with a clear focus on energy efficiency and continuous improvement.
- First line response for all planned and reactive maintenance on all M&E plant including electrical systems included in pumps, motors, drives, AHU's, LV switch gear, PLC's, SCADA.
- Work alongside specialist Sub Contractors working on the estate and ensure they fulfil their obligations of their contracts and undertake their work effectively and safely.
- They are looking for you to have the drive and ambition to work collaboratively within an integrated delivery team, with excellent communication and people management skills, a sound judgement and a focus on achieving high standards and quality assurance.

**What you'll need to succeed**:

- To be successful in the role you will have a working knowledge of the Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice applicable to the maintenance industry with IOSH Working Safely and a specific up to date qualification relating to your trade.
- They are looking for you to have the drive and ambition to work collaboratively within an integrated delivery team, with excellent communication and people management skills, a sound judgement and a focus on achieving high standards and quality assurance.
